Spate of vandal attacks on Sunderland shops leaves businesses counting the cost

A series of attacks on small businesses in a Sunderland community has led to a call for more police to patrol the area.

Sea Road Fisheries has become the latest shop to be targeted in Sea Road, Fulwell, when its glass door and window was smashed.

It follows on from similar incidents at Alishaan By The Sea, which had its glass front damaged before an intruder searched the Indian restaurant and stole cash from its till, and another at Vets4Pets on the same day last month.
